Before your First Massage...
Please plan to arrive at clinic a few minutes early, especially if this is your first appointment.
If you are running late to your appointment, your therapist will do their best to provide you with as much treatment time as possible, however if they have a client after you, treatment time may be limited to your remaining appointment time - full treatment fee applies.
CANCELLATION AND RE-SCHEDULING
Please note that if you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, we request 24 hours notice - full treatment fee may apply in the event that less notice is given.
What to Expect at your First Massage
Your treatment will always incorporate some assessment at the start of treatment and reassessment at the end of treatment. If you are booked in for a relaxation massage, this may be as simple as a few minutes chat with your therapist about your treatment likes and dislikes, consent to treat certain areas of the body, etc. If you are booked in for a remedial massage or myotherapy session, assessment is generally more complex and usually involves some physical assessment to determine the potential causes of your injury / pain / musculoskeletal conditions.
Assessment time is part of your treatment time, and as such means that the actual massage time may be shortened however proper assessment of your condition is imperative to ensure you receive the best massage and achieve your treatment goals at this session and going forward. Proper assessment of your musculoskeletal conditions allows us to determine the potential for your condition to respond to a series of treatments and to treatment plan for future treatments. Assessment time at future appointments will generally be minimal comparitively, unless you have new injuries or conditions for us to consider.
If you wish to recieve a full body massage and remedial or myotherapy treatment of specific conditions at your first treatment, we recommend you book for a 1.5 or 2 hour treatment.
